Notes

Recorded live 11.-12.VIII.1993, Kollegienkirche, Salzburg (Austria) during ZEITFLUSS-Festival '93/SALZBURGER FESTSPIELE 1993.

"Prometeo" was composed by Nono in 1984, but right after the last rehearsal before the première, he made consistent cuts to the score to reduce the original duration of 3 hours. In 1985 he organically revised the score to the present version, which is the one recorded here. The opera instrumentation requires 2 sopranos, 2 altos, tenor, 2 speakers (actors), a group of instrumental soloists (flutes, clarinets, alto trombone, tuba, euphonium, glasses, viola, cello, double bass), a chorus of soloists, orchestra in four groups and live electronics.
