This edition includes bonus tracks and comprehensive liner notes. It includes all of the original tracks recorded by The Quintet on May 15, 1953. None of the tracks featuring Mingus' overdubbed bass are included on the CD, as it is widely agreed that the overdubbing damaged the sound quality of the horns and the drums.

The line up printed on the booklet contains a mistake in the track numbers (one track was forgotten and offset everything coming after). What's listed here are the correct line ups and track numbers, not what's printed on the booklet.
