'Opaline' arose out of the same pool of material as it's (sic) sister release 'IRIS'.
On completion of the project, I realised that there was a distinction between the tracks that featured sections of percussion and 'formal' instrumentation, interspersed with more abstract tonal textures and those that were more continuous and beat-less. Hence the two separate albums.
This album is in the more 'traditional' Igneous Flame territory, with more emphasis focused on composition. In terms of the instrumentation employed, it is less drone based and features more rhythmically defined sections as well as underlying evolving tonal textures.
All tracks, composed and produced by Pete Kelly AKA Igneous Flame at Nimbus studios, 2013 - 2015.
