Notes

This is the third volume of live tam-tam recordings recorded at Ken's private Anvil Creations Studio, now located in Ohio, USA. The titles reflect the dominate gong used, but are never limited to that one instrument. In fact, not only will Ken use each hand for a different tool, he is likely to pick up various objects that may not be used to strike the gongs, but create sounds in and of themselves, while continuing the vibrations from a heavier object. His objective in each session is to coax the most varied and interesting sounds from each piece by not simply striking or bowing a tam tam, but actually attacking the surface, sometimes with force, sometimes with subtle friction. A large variety of mallets and sticks are implemented here, and the sizes all have their unique character. Listen, preferably with headphones, and be taken on an aural journey you may never have visited.
