RKS is back with another hard hitting release. The “Nasty Thing EP” comes courtesy of Birmingham based producer/DJ Alex Parkin.

Already established within the Midlands vibrant underground scene as a DJ, Alex Parkin now carries his high energy into this 3 track bundle sure to set off any dance floor.

Title track “Nasty Thing” has a classic old school house and garage feel to it. A punchy 4x4 back bone with garage style percussive “swing”, complimented by a fierce melodic bass line and topped off with a catchy vocal sample and eerie synth pads.

“Zed” follows suite with that classic garage feel with cool synth stabs before breaking down and unleashing into more of a dark bass fuelled banger that switches between 808 style drum patterns and straight four to the floor rhythms. “Prove 2 U” is a collaboration with Chris Lorenzo. Lead initially by a hooky vocal and a dark synth, progressing into a dance floor filler that switches between various melodic bass lines, complimented well by cool stabs, hits and vocal samples over the top of a crisp rolling beat.
