Michael O'Donoghue, formerly of Tramps in NYC, had often spoken about the great R&B pioneer of the late '40s and '50s, CHARLES BROWN, who was a huge influence on Ray Charles, whose career Michael and Tramps owner Terry Dunne helped revive to play many times at Tramps in the '80s, and Bonnie Raitt, who loved him and his music, who lent her star power to promote him until he got too big again for Tramps to book him anymore. In 1996, on February 16th, at age 73, Charles returned for a final show at Tramps.
