Notes

Being a fan of dusty 12" vinyl, synth duos and electronica led me to create The Grand Gestures. The music was written around loops, vintage synths, home grown noises and live drums. The vocalists visited my home, recording in the bathroom on to a 16 track, treating it like tape, no zeros and ones. The reverb of the bathroom tiles helped with the overall sound, giving a nod to Joe Meek. Nobody batted an eyelid to recording in the bathroom or sitting on the toilet to revise their lyrics.
The contributors are friends and friends of friends.
Dad added guitars and banjo and I supplied the curry lunch.
I hope it surprises you as much as it keeps surprising me.
