"In the region of Piemont (Italy of course!) where I was born and I still live, the night between the first and the second of November (the "day of the deads") is the night for the spirits to visit their family. It's a tradition with us to get some boiled chestnuts and a glass of milk ready on the kitchen table so that our beloved ghosts will find something to feed their long time hungry. (or "Hunger" as properly conjugated in English, [ESL])
