Hi. I'm Tyler. I thought you should know that:
Every single note of these songs was played on a real instrument by a real
person. There is a very long list of modern studio tricks we did not use on this recording. There is: no auto tune, no drum samples, no midi, synths, or
samplers, no vocoders, no audio-to-midi slaving, no sub-harmonic synthesis on the bass or kick drum, just 2 live loops, performed by Thor in my studio for tracks 1 and 10. That being said, there may be a few quirky notes, imperfect passages, and a few downright strange moments. This time, we decided to leave that stuff in. Sure, I could have edited it all out, but we want this to sound real- live -raw. The piano is making all kinds of squeaks and squawks. I'm right up on those mics - breathing and feeling it. The guitar has a noise floor that would attract a humpback whale. Real things make noise. There is noise everywhere. I love it.

Love songs, hate songs. It sounds so heavy! Don't worry, it's not so serious.
I'm just going to take you on a small adventure. An adventure through what it means for me to be a songwriter: always trying to get that idea down to a
format that makes some sense to my manic, oversensitive personality, while trying to understand a few things along the way. I write because I have to, because I love to, because I'm driven to.

Sometimes I hate what I write, and sometimes I hate the people or the things
I'm writing about. Sometimes I love them, at that moment perhaps more than
anything. Sometimes I hate what I've done, or even more, the things I haven't done. Sometimes I hate myself for the fears I carry, or hate others for their lack of confidence. Other times I just have to sing a love song. Relax. I don't really hate anything or anybody, but the word has a power, doesn't it?

Some of these are older tunes, I haven't had the chance to record for my
previous releases. Others are brand new. An interesting mix for sure, but why worry, right? Music is simple. Music for us is love. Music for us is also a bit
of hate. I have always hated having to fight my way through the "biz" but
this is the life I chose. We love to play music for people. Hopefully that's
what we do best!
