Acknowledgements
The calendar-album, "Lucifer", published in Bucharest, in December 1988 to honour the memory of Romania's national poet, Mihai Eminescu, from whose passage into eternity one hundred years will have elapsed on 15th June 1989, is edited by The Ministry of Chemical and Petrochemical Industry.

Poet Nicolae Dragoș, musicologist Viorel Cosma, artist-photographer Nicolae Terteleac have contributed towards the achievement of this edition. The English version of the poem "Lucifer" is due to Corneliu M. Popescu. It is reproduced from the volume Mihai Eminescu: "Poems", edited by the "Eminescu" Publishing House of Bucharest in 1978, translation based on Titu Maiorescu's 1885 original Romanian text. The critical texts are translated into English by Sergiu Marcus.
