7 classic early recordings by Jim Penfold's 1978/1979 line-up of the Hollywood Killers. The first 3 tracks were recorded at Gooseberry Studios, Soho, London. Goodbye Suicide/Tramp were released as a 7" single. John Peel (DJ on BBC Radio 1) loved it and played it many times on his show. Satan's Song has never been released before. The last 4 songs were demos recorded at the legendary Sarm West Studios (originally Island Studios), in West London. They were produced by Muff Winwood (Dire Straits/Sparks etc producer), brother of Steve. Island Records were considering signing the band! Another 'nearly made it' moment. All songs written by Jim Penfold.
Line-up: jim Penfold (vocals/rhythm guitar), Neil 'Chilli Willi' Aplin (lead guitar), Alexander Moylegrove 3rd (saxophone), Pete Poodle (bass guitar) and Berni Schmirnoff (drums).
Incidentally.......The track Waiting For The Lady was covered by the band The Boys, on the album To Hell With The Boys. later that year.
